Been a long time...

Hey, I know it's been a while. I've had a lot of stuff going on. I went paintballing last weekend. Very fun. My team won 4 games out of 4. The most memorable moment has to be the BONZAI cry at half time when all my team charged at once and won the game by getting to the fort.
Also I've been checking out some Skyrim gameplay on youtube and it looks to be the best game EVER! Unfortunately, the weekend it comes out on is also the weekend that I have to crack down and revise on. I have science module resits to take :(
I have now finished my Bronze Duke of Edinburough award and it was absolute hell. I am NOT doing silver. There are some good memories though...
This weekend looks to be fun, I'm going to see Peter Kay Live in Manchester tomorrow night. I've been a fan of him for a lot of years but he hasn't done anything new that I've seen recently. And I'm also planning on seeing Johnny English 2 which should make for a lot of fun. I'll keep in touch... ;)

First week back

So I've had my first week back at school now in my 11th year (known as 5th year in my and some other schools) and I have to say, not a lot has changed. Usually every year everything is new; new teachers; new lessons etc. This year we are in the same classes with the same teachers doing exactly what we were doing before the holidays, with the odd exception. I was really looking forward to seeing my friends again before the end of the holidays and now I just wish that I didn't have to go tomorrow. And I have to get a train early in the morning by myself which I have never done before so that's fairly scary. But enough complaining, this weekend has been fun though the weather was terrible. I played badminton and squash at the Kendal Leisure Center, hung out with a friend and also got that new game Dead Island. It's a great Hack-and-Slash game and the style of it is very similar to Oblivion. Speaking of which, Skyrim is coming soon! Cannot wait for that... Oh, and I can no longer go to GAMEFEST disappointingly. I kept asking my parents to buy my ticket and when they finally decide to be bothered WEEKS later, all the tickets are sold out. So that sucks.

Today is a very important day as I'm sure you know. The date of this post is 9/11. I want to show my respect to all those who were affected by the events of this day all those years ago. There has been no repeat terrorist attacks today as was the concern I believe. At least not so far.

School Time

Back to school in 2 days. I have to go tomorrow to bring all my stuff back to the boarding house- guess thats something I never mentioned before, I'm a boarder. I will probably stay the night to save me a trip back to Kendal and also because it's fun to catch up with friends after the summer holidays. Got a new dorm on the floor above my old one which I am sharing with one of my closest friends. I think he is going back tomorrow night also.
I just got back this afternoon from my great-grandfathers 90th bithday extravaganza. It was a 3 day party but was boring as hell to be honest. You know when you're at a party with only family and you're like, "who the hell are 3/4 of these people?" The family you do know are all locked in small groups and so you sit in a corner and drink and eat occasionally but other than that make no contribution to the party whatsoever. Thats what the last 3 days have been like for me. On the plus side, I got to wear an awesome new suit. Maybe I'll upload a picture with the ones I promised of Nickelodean land.

Nickelodeon Land

Visited Blackpool Pleasure beach a couple days ago. Clearly the best reason for visiting is the new addition of Nickelodeon Land. Although none of the rides in it are even nearly what any teenager would deem 'scary', there are a couple that were fun to try out including the Avatar themed ride and the Nickelodeon Streak. Also it's not every day you see all the characters from your favourite tv shows (when you were younger anyway) and a real Krusty Krab. I was disappointed that it wasn't a real restaurant though. Anyway I will post some pictures when I can be bothered.

Money (and what to do with it)

So i got £40 for my 7 hours of work the other day. That totals to about £5.71 per hour. I'm fairly happy with that and I would definately do it again, mostly because I have yet to aquire any sort of work placement and I'm desperate for money. The reason I'm desperate is because of the horde of awesome Xbox games coming our way soon such as: Assassins Creed Revelations, Gears of War 3, Modern Warfare 3, Dead Island, Skyrim and Bioshock Infinite. I'm planning to buy Dead Island when it comes out on the 9th of September and Skyrim which comes out on the 11th of November. The rest I will save for Christmas and my Birthday or I will buy them with Christmas money. If you don't see any posts from me soon after Christmas then it probably means I went into post-Christmas hibernation mode where I sit in the corner gaming all hours of the day. I'm fairly certain that will not happen though...

Gamefest

Still waiting on that payment...

Have you heard about Gamefest 2011? I cannot wait to go! An opportunity to play the best new games, months before their release! There will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3, Assassins Creed Revelations and many more. I'm so excited!!!

Work is work...

Today I spent 7 hours stuffing envolopes with newsletters for a hotel in Grange. I really wish I had agreed on a price beforehand but now at least it's over. I would tell you how much I got paid but I don't yet know, I'm being paid tomorrow. I am going to be MAD if it wasn't worth 7 hours labour.
Hah, labour. Actually it wasn't hard work. I did work 7 hours but it was such easy work that I was allowed to watch tv or listen to my iPod. Since there is not much on daytime television (except from the 'Friends' and 'The Big Bang Theory' in the morning on T4) I opted instead to use my Tube downloader app to watch 10 episodes of previously recorded American Dad. That helped pass the time. Ill let you know what I get paid tomorrow.
